Built for hospitality marketers

When budgets are tight, you don’t want opinions. You want context. What are other teams spending? Which channels are earning their keep? Where are people pulling back, and what are they doubling down on for 2026? This benchmark pulls together real responses from UK leisure and hospitality brands so you can sense-check your plan and defend your decisions with something stronger than gut feel.

What you get for taking part

You’ll take the survey in 8 to 10 minutes. If you’re eligible, you’ll receive a £20 Love2Shop voucher, plus the full benchmark report in Q2 2026 and access to our results event where we share the findings properly. You’ll also receive an RSVP link to the launch event, with guest speakers from the industry and technology experts. If you want a second pair of eyes, you can book a free 1 hour consultation with CRKLR tailored to your venue type.

A quick word from CRKLR.

We work with hospitality and leisure brands across the UK, including restaurants and pubs to attractions and entertainment venues, helping teams drive bookings, covers and footfall you can measure. If you run a single venue or a multi site group, this research is for you. We’re pulling together a clear view of how local and national operators are adapting their marketing, and which channels and strategies they’re backing for 2026, so you can benchmark your own plan properly.

1.
Budgets & Resources

We’ll start with the basics. You’ll share roughly what you’re spending on marketing, whether that’s moving up or down, and how your team is set up. We’ll also ask how much you keep in-house versus using agencies or freelancers, and how your budget is split across the channels you rely on.

2.
Channel Performance

This is where we get into what’s working. You’ll rank your best-performing channels, tell us where you’re increasing investment, and what you’re quietly trimming back. We’ll also touch on direct performance and, where relevant, the role OTAs and third parties play in your bookings and revenue mix.

3.
Technology & Data

We’ll ask what tools you’re using day-to-day, from analytics to CRM to booking and reporting. You’ll share how confident you feel in your tracking, where measurement breaks down, and what attribution looks like in the real world. There’s also a section on AI, what you’re using it for, and what you don’t trust yet.

4.
Customer Strategy

Here we’re looking at how you bring people in and keep them coming back. We’ll ask about acquisition costs, retention and loyalty, and how much of your trade comes from repeat customers. We’ll also cover how you’re building your database, and how often you’re emailing or messaging customers without overdoing it.

5.
2026 Priorities

This is your chance to tell us what you’re planning for. We’ll ask what feels hardest right now, what you’re prioritising for 2026, and where you need marketing to make a bigger dent. We’ll also touch on wider pressures, things like costs, competition, staffing, and sustainability, and how they’re shaping decisions.

6.
Trends & Innovation

Finally, we’ll look ahead. You’ll share which trends you think will matter most, where platforms like TikTok fit into your mix, and how confident you feel about hitting targets this year. We’ll also ask what you want from agencies, what’s been missing, and what would make your life easier.

Frequently asked questions

We know you’re busy, so here’s the fine print in plain English. These are the most common questions about time, confidentiality, results, and what happens after you hit submit.

How does the £20 Love2Shop voucher work?

We’ll send a £20 Love2Shop voucher to eligible respondents who complete the survey and meet the criteria for this research. To keep the benchmark clean, we’ll validate that you’re a marketing decision maker within a UK leisure or hospitality business before issuing the voucher. Vouchers are capped and available on a first come, first served basis for valid completions.

Is this really free?

Yes. The survey is free, the benchmark report is free, and the optional consultation is free. There’s no commitment to work with CRKLR and no catch. We’re doing this because the sector needs better shared context, and we want the findings to be useful for people making decisions in leisure and hospitality.

When will I receive the results?

We’ll publish the benchmark in Q2 2026. If you leave your email, we’ll send you the full report as soon as it’s ready, plus a link to book your free consultation if you want to talk through what it means for your business. You’ll also get our trends and takeaways from the data.

How long does it take?

Most people finish in 8-10 minutes. Everything is optional, so if a question doesn’t apply or you’d rather not answer it, just skip it and keep moving.

Who should complete this survey?

This survey is for anyone responsible for marketing decisions in a UK hospitality or leisure business, including owners, operators and marketing leads. It’s relevant for restaurants and pubs, hotels, attractions and visitor experiences, entertainment venues, competitive socialising brands, theme parks, wellness and fitness concepts, and outdoor leisure operators.

How will my data be used?

We only use responses to create aggregated benchmarks and sector trends. Your individual answers aren’t shared, sold, or published in a way that identifies you. If you choose to leave contact details, we’ll only use them to send you the report and, if you want it, the consultation booking link. We don’t share your details with third parties. We’ll only use your email to send the report and results event details.

Let’s make your next move your smartest one.
